Vol. 196 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Bog Road.

45.

Mr. Donnellan

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission prepared a scheme for the division of the Captain Dick Estate, Cloonmore bog, Dunmore, County Galway; that they allotted over eighty bog plots and constructed a road through the bog without making provision for access from the public road by the repair of a private road which is owned by six tenants and is now used by the plotholders; and what steps the Land Commission propose to take to ensure that the private road is kept in a proper state of repair.

I am informed that the road referred to is in a fairly good state of repair. However, if any damage results from extended user arising out of the recent allotment of turbary rights by the Land Commission, the matter will be fully considered.
