Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Pupils.

80.

asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils between thirteen and fourteen years of age who had not reached sixth standard in (a) 1959-60 (b) 1960-61 and (c) 1961-62.

On 30th June, 1960, there were 15,836 pupils between thirteen and fourteen years of age who had not reached sixth standard in national schools. Figures for the years 1960-61 and 1961-62 are not available as it has been the practice to prepare these returns once in every five years.
