Vol. 197 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Secondary School Scholarships.

124.

asked the Minister for Education if the maximum age of children allowed to sit for county council scholarships to secondary schools has been lowered for the year 1963; and, if so, by what period of time, and to what age.

The upper age limit for pupils sitting for the examination for the award of post-primary scholarships in 1963 has been reduced to 13 years on the 1st January, 1963. The effect of the reduction is to reduce the upper age limit by four months compared with the position obtaining this year.
