asked the Minister for Finance what Winter or Christmas relief grants will be provided this year for Dún Laoghaire Corporation and the Dublin County Council in respect of the Rathdown area, the amount in each case, the estimated number who will be employed on the work, and the duration of the work.

The following allocations have been made for employment schemes for the current winter in the area referred to:— Dún Laoghaire Borough, grant £4,000, local contribution £1,000, total £5,000. Dublin County Council for Dún Laoghaire Suburbs, grant £600, local contribution £200, total £800.

It is expected that the borough schemes will give employment to an average of 20 men over a period of approximately 21 weeks, and the county council scheme to an average of ten men for a period of approximately seven weeks.
