Vol. 198 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Crumlin Road (Dublin) Traffic Lights.

58.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will arrange to have considered the question of having traffic lights and zebra crossings on the Crumlin Road, Dublin, which is over a mile long and which carries very heavy traffic at parts of the day.

The provision of traffic lights or a zebra crossing at a particular site is primarily a matter for the local authority in consultation with the Garda Síochána.

I may say, however, that the Dublin Corporation have already been advised that grants from the Road Fund are available towards the provision of traffic lights at the junction of Crumlin Road with Sundrive Road and Herberton Road and of a zebra crossing on the Crumlin Road at Iveagh Grounds.
