Vol. 198 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary Housing Needs.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state with regard to each urban area in South Tipperary (a) the number of houses required to meet the needs of the area as ascertained by the most recent housing survey, (b) the number of houses at present under construction by the local authority and (c) what housing schemes from each area are before his Department for approval.

The results of the recent unfit housing survey notified to my Department show the number of unfit dwellings in Carrick-on-Suir, Cashel and Tipperary urban districts to be 132, 53 and 132, respectively, of which the number incapable of economic repair are 70, 23 and 80. I have not yet received results from Clonmel Corporation.

As to (b) and (c) of the Question, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his Question on the 11th instant in this regard.
