I am aware of four current industrial proposals in relation to County Sligo and one in relation to County Leitrim.
Is the Minister aware that it was announced this afternoon that an industry in the west is to close down with a loss of employment to 400 people in Castlerea? Can he do anything to procure re-employment for those unfortunates who are now thrown out of employment?
I have no information about that yet.
It was announced at 1.30 p.m. on Radio Éireann today.
Can the Minister state where in Leitrim this industry is to be started?
The Deputy will appreciate that it is not usual, or I think desirable, to give information in advance about proposals for new industries unless the promoters of the industries themselves give such information.
It is only on paper yet.
