Vol. 199 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sheep-Grazing Facilities.

61.

asked the Minister for Lands if his Department will make available for letting any land held by the Land Commission in Wickow, or adjoining counties, which is suitable for lowland grazing of sheep, to enable owners of snowbound mountain sheep to get their animals back into condition.

In Counties Wicklow, Carlow, Kildare, Waterford and Tipperary, substantial areas have already been made available under lettings by the Land Commission to accommodate sheep which were snowbound due to recent severe weather conditions. Any further applications on the lines mentioned in the question will be sympathetically considered.
