Vol. 204 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Division in South-West Cork.

20.

asked the Minister for Lands what lands the Land Commission have for division in Cork South-West; the areas in which they are situate; when they will be divided; and the number of applicants.

Land Commission records are not compiled by reference to constituency areas.

For County Cork as a whole, the available particulars on the lines requested in the first two parts of the question, are contained in a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate with the Official Report.

It is not possible at present to indicate when the various estates mentioned in the statement will be allotted but there will be no avoidable delay.

As it is not the practice to keep a comprehensive numerical record of applications for land, the statistics requested in the final part of the question are not available. Indeed such a record might not, of itself, accurately reflect the number of really qualified claimants inasmuch as all eligible persons, irrespective of whether they have lodged a formal application or not, are automatically considered by the Land Commission for allotments.

Following is the statement:

COUNTY CORK.
