Vol. 204 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employees of Dundalk Engineering Works.

14.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is in a position to indicate whether those workers engaged in the Dundalk Engineering Works on the repair and maintenance of rolling stock will not be disemployed by the end of the year as a result of the removal of this work elsewhere.

It is not possible to say at this stage whether workers engaged in the Dundalk Engineering Works on the repair and maintenance of rolling stock will not be disemployed at the end of the year. I can assure the Deputy, however, that every effort has been and will continue to be made to secure alternative employment for any men affected by the termination of this work.

Questions Nos. 15, 16 and 17 postponed.
