Vol. 205 No. 12

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Cottages.

63.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of applications at present before Wexford County Council for cottages; and the number of proposals by the County Council for the erection of cottages.

Information as to the number of applications for re-housing at present before the county council is not available in my Department.

At 31st October, 1963, 19 cottages were in course of construction for the council, tenders had been invited for 22 cottages and sites for a further 23 cottages had been acquired by the council.

Would the Minister say whether the Wexford County Council were asked to carry out a housing survey in the past two years?

And they did not do that?

It does not follow from my answer to this question that they did not do so.

I thought the Minister said he had no information as to the number of houses required.

What I was asked was the number of applications at present before the Wexford County Council for cottages.

Has the Minister the figures available?

I have not got them readily available here but, if the Deputy wishes, I can send them to him.
