Vol. 205 No. 12

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Firies (Kerry) Housing.

65.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received from Kerry County Council a proposal with regard to the erection of six houses at Firies, County Kerry; at what date he received such proposal; and when he expects to grant approval.

A layout plan for six unserviced local authority cottages on a site near Firies village was received in my Department on 31st May last. The proposal is open to some serious objections which were brought to the notice of the housing authority in 1956 when the question of site acquisition was being considered. The housing authority is being requested to reconsider their proposal with a view to providing fully-serviced cottages nearer to the village.
