Vol. 205 No. 12

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin House Defect.

66.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government if, having regard to the collapse of a bedroom window in No. 66 St. Maelruan's Park, Tallaght, County Dublin within eight years of the erection of the house, he will ascertain the cause of the collapse, and ensure that the tenant is not made to bear the cost of the default of others in the erection and maintenance of window frames.

67.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that within eight years of the building by the Dublin County Council of a house at St. Maelruan's Park, Tallaght, County Dublin the frame of one of the bedroom windows came apart from the wall; that the tenant complained to the Council two years ago about it and received assurances that the window would be put right; that the repairs have not been effected; and that the Council now repudiate liability; and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 66 and 67 together. The housing authority is being asked for a report on this matter. I shall communicate further with the Deputy when I have received it.
