asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received from Limerick Corporation proposals for the carrying out of Christmas relief employment schemes; whether such proposals have been examined by his Department; and whether, in order to ease the unemployment position in the Limerick area, he will give early approval.

The proposals in question were received in my Department on the 4th instant and have been examined. A decision on them will be conveyed to the Corporation after an inspection being made this week.

asked the Minister for Local Government what Christmas relief employment schemes have been sanctioned for North Tipperary; and when work will begin.

No proposals have yet been received from Tipperary (North Riding) County Council under the Employment and Emergency Schemes Grant for 1963/64.
