Vol. 206 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Circuit Court Sittings.

41.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state with regard to the years ended 31st July, 1961, 1962 and 1963 respectively (a) the number of days on which each Circuit Court judge sat in open court, and (b) the number of new civil actions defended and listed for hearing by each judge of the Circuit Court.

The information requested is in the form of tabular statements which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to have circulated with the Official Report. The statistics given of civil actions are based on circuits, as these are not available in respect of individual judges.

Following is the statement:—

(a) Number of days on which each Judge of the Circuit Court sat. The figures include any days on which a Judge permanently assigned to a Circuit sat in a Circuit other than his own.
