Vol. 206 No. 9

Correction by Member.

Deputy Dillon wishes to make a correction.

When speaking earlier, I referred to the accommodation provided for the families in connection with the housing problems which we have been discussing. Inadvertently, I mentioned some who were accommodated in the Mendicity Institute. I should have mentioned the Night Shelter. Perhaps the Chair will allow me to say in that connection that the Mendicity Institute is not an institution which provides accommodation at all but is one of the oldest and most respected charities in the city, concerned with providing meals for poor people which they do to the admiration of all their neighbours. It is an institution of whose voluntary and beneficial activities all good citizens of this State are deeply cognisant.
