asked the Minister for Health the amount of money expended from the Hospitals Trust Fund on (a) renovation and (b) new building of hospitals in Cork City and County during the past five financial years; and if he will indicate what provisions have been made in this respect for the coming financial year.

The amount of money expended from the Hospitals Trust Fund during the past five financial years on (a) renovation and (b) new hospital building in Cork city and county was £34,000 and £456,000 respectively. It is anticipated that in the current financial year grants for renovation will amount to over £40,000 and for new hospital building will amount to £65,000 approximately.
