Vol. 208 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commission on Irish Language.

3.

asked the Minister for Finance if a decision has been reached on the recommendations of the Commission for the Restoration of the Irish Language; if so, when he intends to make a statement on the matter; and if not, when a decision may be expected.

Government Departments and other State bodies have been asked for their observations on the report and recommendations of the Commission. The views submitted will be assembled and digested by my Department and will then be considered by the Government. It is proposed to issue a White Paper setting out the Government's policy on the recommendations of the Commission before the end of the year.

The Department will have something to digest.
