Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reconstruction of Dublin Road.

34.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that one of the principal roads leading to Dublin city, known as the Long Mile Road, is in need of immediate reconstruction; whether there is any proposal before his Department for necessary repairs; and if he will ensure that sanction for carrying out this urgently needed scheme is forthcoming.

Dublin Corporation propose to undertake an improvement scheme on this road when all the necessary lands have been acquired. A compulsory purchase order made and submitted by the Corporation did not include all the lands needed for the scheme which could not be acquired by agreement and it is understood that a further order to acquire the balance of the lands is being prepared.
