Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Grants.
Waterford Corporation were allocated a grant of £22,000 in 1961/62 under the scheme of special grants for roads affected by certain recent railway closings. The allocations to Waterford County Council under the scheme were £12,000 in 1961/62 and £20,000 in 1963/64.
They would keep the Tramore railway going for about 20 years.
32.
asked the Minister for Local Government the amount of road grants allotted by his Department to each local authority for the coming year, and the amount of road tax collected by each local authority for the year ended 31st December, 1963.
For details of road tax collected I would refer the Deputy to my reply of the 10th March, 1964, to Deputy Tully. The reply to the other part of the question is in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.
