Vol. 210 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Bog.

34.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is intended to hand over the tenants' bog at Corrig, Longorchard, Templetuohy, Thurles, County Tipperary to Bord na Móna; and, if so, if the tenants will be adequately compensated, or if alternative turbary rights will be provided.

If the Deputy is referring to turbary acquired by the Land Commission at Derryville on the Power Lalor Estate, the position is that the fee-simple of this bog, together with about 240 rights of turbary thereon, were allotted some years ago. There is a limited number of turbary rights still pending for allotment on the bog but arrangements for their disposal have not yet been completed.

The Land Commission have no proposals for the resumption, for allocation to Bord na Móna, of allotments made by them on the Estate.
