Vol. 211 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Graduates.

5.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the numbers of agricultural graduates which he estimates will be needed by his Department, the Agricultural Institute, and the Committees of Agriculture from those coming forward during the next five years from universities within the State.

It is impossible to be any way precise in a matter of this kind but at the present time it is estimated that the number of graduates holding a degree in Agricultural Science which will be required by the institutions mentioned, over the next five years, may be of the order of 250. It is a matter for conjecture how many of these posts would be filled by candidates who will get their degrees within that period.
