Vol. 211 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transatlantic Telephone Calls.

19.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the great inconvenience caused by his Department to American tourists by the refusal to accept transatlantic telephone calls from coin box telephones; and, if so, if he will take steps to remedy the matter forthwith.

Transatlantic calls cannot be accepted from coin box telephones because of the difficulty in ensuring the insertion and check of the large number of coins which would be required to make a call.
