asked the Minister for Finance what shares in State and semi-State, or statutory companies, have been offered for subscription by the public; and if he will give the name of each of these companies and the amount in each case.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

SHARES in State and semi-State or statutory companies which have been offered for subscription by the public.

Name of Company

Amount of shares offered for subscription by the public.

Agricultural Credit Corporation Limited.

300,000 shares of £1 each.

Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann Teoranta

500,000 6% Cumulative Preference Shares of £1 each.

The Industrial Credit Company Limited.

2,000,000 shares of £1 each.

NOTES:

1. The above offers were taken up by the public as follows:-

Agricultural Credit Corporation: 7,716 shares.

Comhlucht Siúicre Éireann: in full.

Industrial Credit Company: 8,607 shares.

2. For the purpose of the above table, offers which were confined to the banks or to existing shareholders have been omitted.
