Vol. 212 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Families Accommodated in Dublin Barracks.

12.

asked the Minister for Local Government what steps have been taken to provide suitable alternative accommodation for the families at present accommodated in Griffith Barracks, Dublin.

13.

asked the Minister for Local Government the total number of mothers and children at present housed in Griffith Barracks, Dublin by the Dublin Health Authority.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 12 and 13 together.

I understand that on the night of 9th-10th November, 1964, a total of 89 persons were living in Griffith Barracks, including 23 women and 49 children. Dublin Corporation are expanding their housing output with a view to providing suitable accommodation for all who should appropriately be housed by them but I am not in a position to say when any particular family will be rehoused.
