Vol. 213 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Siting of Comprehensive Schools.

21.

asked the Minister for Education whether any further decisions have been made about the siting of comprehensive schools; and, if so, where such schools will be situated.

A decision has already been taken to establish comprehensive schools in Carraroe, Cootehill, Shannon and Glenties.

Architects have been appointed to prepare plans for the schools in Cootehill and Shannon. A site in Glenties is at present being negotiated and it is hoped to appoint an architect shortly for the Carraroe school.

The examination of other areas is proceeding and as decisions are taken they will be announced.
