Vol. 214 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Dance Hall Licences.

152.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of licences under the Public Dance Halls Acts held in the County Borough of Dublin at the latest date for which figures are conveniently available.

On 31st January, 1965, 58 annual public dancing licences were in force in the County Borough of Dublin. An annual public dancing licence permits public dancing in a premises during the period up to the next annual licensing court. Many dances, however, are run in accordance with occasional licences, which are valid for periods not exceeding one month. In 1964, 91 such licences were granted in respect of premises in the County Borough of Dublin.
