Vol. 214 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Subsidy for Island-Produced Milk.

24.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he has completed his investigation into the possibility of providing a subsidy for island-dwelling milk producers where creamery facilities are not available; and if he will now grant this form of subsidy.

On 24th November last, in the course of the debate on the Supplementary Estimate for my Department, I indicated that I would look into this problem again. I have since arranged for my Department to carry out an up-to-date survey of the milk supply position on the islands off the coast of West Cork not already provided with creamery facilities and I am now studying the results.
