Vol. 215 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exemption of Insulin from Turnover Tax.

4.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will exempt insulin from the turnover tax in view of the hardship caused by the increase in price to those for whom insulin is a necessity.

The answer to the Deputy's question must be in the negative. Because of the nature of the turnover tax, it is not feasible to single out retail sales of particular commodities for special treatment.
