Vol. 216 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cahir Flour Mill Quota.

30.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can give any information concerning the alleged selling or handing over of the flour milling quota of Messrs. Going and Smith, Cahir, County Tipperary; and if, in view of the fact that if this mill closes redundancy of at least fifteen operatives and many casual workers, etc., will result, he will investigate the situation with a view to ensuring that this quota continues to be milled in Cahir.

No flour mill can sell or hand over its quota to another concern.

The Deputy will appreciate that I am not in a position to require Messrs. Going and Smith to continue to mill flour if, in fact, they decide not to do so.
