The Wallace estate totals only 22½ acres including a half-acre of lake. It has been allocated by the Land Commissioners as enlargements for two adjoining smallholders who have been given possession. The old house is unsuitable as a dwelling and is to be converted into an out-office.
Because of the physical character of the land and the need to provide a water supply for stock, it was not practicable to allocate more than 5½ acres to the person in question but his case has been noted for further consideration in the event of further land becoming available for distribution locally.
