asked the Minister for Finance (a) the number of single persons, (b) the number of married couples without children, and (c) the number of married couples entitled to the allowance for three children, paying income tax whose incomes are in the following income brackets (or the nearest for which statistics are available): (i) below £500, (ii) between £500 and £750, (iii) between £750 and £1,000, (iv) between £1,000 and £1,250, and (v) over £1,250.

Income tax statistics are not compiled in such a manner as to enable the information requested by the Deputy to be given.
