Subject to some suggestions in regard to detail of plans, I approved the preparation of contract documents for this pool in September last. Since the introduction of the prototype swimming pool which I have designed, Sligo County Council, in common with all other local authorities who propose to provide pools, have been requested to reexamine their plans in the light of the new development which makes low-cost indoor pools a practical possibility. I am awaiting a report from the county council on their reexamination of plans and, in the meantime, I am unable to say when work will commence.
