Vol. 218 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Cottage.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government at what date application was first made for the erection of a cottage for Mr. Tom Twomey, Kilgarvin, County Kerry; the number of inspections which have been carried out on the site for the proposed cottage; the date of such inspections; whether the site has been approved; if so, when; when it is expected that this cottage will be erected; and the cause of the delay in its erection.

A proposal to erect a cottage on the site in question was submitted to my Department by Kerry County Council on 20th February, 1964. The site was inspected by my Department's inspector on 18th April, 1964, and the proposal was approved on 19th May, 1964. I understand that the site is part of a holding which was acquired by the Irish Land Commission in February, 1965, and that arrangements are being made for the transfer of the site to the council. I am not in a position to say when the cottage will be erected.
