Vol. 218 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Housing Scheme.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that there were nearly 40 applicants for eight houses erected in Castle-island, County Kerry over 12 months ago; and that the County Medical Officer reported that all the applicants were in need of rehousing; and, if so, if he will state the present position of the proposal submitted to his Department to erect another scheme of houses in this town.

A revised layout plan for a scheme of 50 houses was submitted last August by the council's consultant architect and has been under examination by the Department's technical advisers in consultation with the council's officers. I am advised that the proposal is now generally in order and a decision will be conveyed to the council shortly.
