asked the Minister for Finance the amount of stamp duties on property transactions collected in each of the four quarters in 1964 and 1965.

As the information is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

Could the Minister say whether or not there is a decline in the amount of stamp duties as between 1964 and 1965?
I will have to work out the figures here. In some cases there has been a decline; in others, there has been an increase.
Would the Minister bring the reply to the attention of the Minister for Local Government?
The Deputy will be able to do that just as well as I can.
Would the Minister say why he has to put into a tabular statement eight figures which could be given to the House here, and, perhaps properly discussed?
I can ask the Ceann Comhairle to withdraw the permission he gave me and read out the figures for the Deputy.
I wonder would the Chair be good enough to withdraw the permission because I feel the House——
I am not disposed to break away from precedents of that kind without considerable consideration and examination.
In that event, I would ask the Minister to withdraw his application to the Chair in which case it would not be needed.
The Deputy will have the reply in four minutes—they are big figures. I could read them but it would take a long time.
