asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of O'Connell Bridge House, Hawkins House, St. Stephen's Green House, Ansley House and Liberty Hall the number of civil servants accommodated in each building, and the duration of each lease; and in respect of the total annual rent payable the average annual rate (i) per head and (ii) per square foot.

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:—

O'Connell Bridge House: The number of staff accommodated is 382. The lease is for a term of 35 years, but it can be terminated by either party at the end of the seventh year.

Hawkins House: The number of staff accommodated is 468. The lease is for a term of 14 years, the lessee having the option to extend it for a further seven years.

St. Stephen's Green House: The number of staff accommodated is 292. The lease is for a term of 21 years. Ansley House: Part of the building has been allocated to 170 units of staff. Further staff, the number of which has yet to be determined, will be accommodated there. The lease is for a term of 75 years, but the lessees have the option of terminating it at the end of the 25th and 50th years.

Liberty Hall: The number of staff to be accommodated is 78. The lease is for a term of seven years.

The average annual rent per head of staff in these buildings is about £109. The average rate per square foot is 17/4d.
