asked the Minister for Local Government if he will now sanction the sewerage proposals for Ballytore under the category No. 2 water extension scheme of Kildare County Council.

The examination of these proposals has shown the need for further consideration of certain technical aspects. A letter will issue to the local authority on these matters shortly.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will now approve the preliminary report for the extension of water and sewerage to Roseberry, Droichead Nua and the water improvement scheme for Ballymanny, Droichead Nua, County Kildare.

Kildare County Council have been asked to submit some additional technical data in order that examination of their preliminary proposals for water supply and sewerage extensions to Roseberry can be completed.

I approved of a water supply improvement scheme for Ballymanny on 24th May last, and I have been informed by Kildare County Council that the work is now nearing completion.

But there is an addition to the May ones.

Yes; the first part of the answer deals with that.

Could the Minister say when he asked for the information? My information is that at the last meeting of the county council they were told that the matter was with the Department.

The 1st July.

The power of the question.

Prior to the question.

23.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position regarding the Rylane water scheme, County Cork.

The local authority were requested on 24th May last to carry out yield tests on the proposed source. They have indicated that these tests will be carried out in September when the source will be at its lowest level. When the results of these tests have been evaluated the matter will be further considered.
