Vol. 227 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Public Libraries.

12.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, having regard to the great need for public libraries in Ballyfermot and Dolphin's Barn, Dublin, capital will soon be provided to build them; and, if so, when.

The provision of libraries at Ballyfermot and Dolphin's Barn is being considered in conjunction with the Dublin Corporation's proposals for the provision of other capital works.

Does the Minister not appreciate that as far as Ballyfermot is concerned the only problem now is the non-availability of capital? Having regard to the tremendous demand in this vast area, will the Minister ensure that particular attention is given to the provision of capital for this work?

Every relevant matter will be taken into consideration.

Will the Minister give them the money?

I have no request before me.

The Minister has a request.

Is it not a rather relevant time of the year?

It is being considered.
