Vol. 227 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin River Improvements.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government when Dublin Corporation will commence and complete the deepening and re-alignment of the Poddle River at Kimmage, Dublin; the length and location of the stretch of river upon which work will be carried out; and whether, in addition to subsequently developing portion of the adjoining land for the erection of 32 dwelling houses, the open space at the corner of Lower Kimmage Road and Ravensdale Park will be developed as a public park and car park.

I have been informed by Dublin Corporation that they propose to commence the work of deepening and re-aligning the Poddle River in the present financial year and that the work relates to the stretch of river between Clonard Road and the Derrington Paint factory.

No information is available to me at present as to the projected use of the open space referred to by the Deputy.
