Vol. 227 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Maintenance of Dublin Corporation Houses.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether in view of his most recent circular to local authorities, referring to the low standard of maintenance in municipal housing, any improvement in the service or additions to the staff are contemplated for the Dublin Corporation maintenance department.

In my letter of 28th February last to the corporation, I indicated that with a view particularly to improving the standards of maintenance of corporation dwellings, the organisation and methods of their Maintenance Department should be independently reviewed. I understand that the corporation are at present considering how best to give effect to this suggestion.
