Vol. 228 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Adaptation Grants.

58.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will give (a) particulars of firms who have received adaptation grants for the years 1964, 1965 and 1966, (b) the amount involved in each case, and (c) the total amount paid out each year; and if he is satisfied with the progress of the scheme to date.

The Reports of An Foras Tionscal for the years ended 31st March, 1964, 1965 and 1966 which are available in the Library give the particulars sought by the Deputy in relation to the adaptation grants scheme.

While the scheme has resulted in substantial improvements in industrial production and efficiency, there is still considerable leeway to be made up and I have made it clear to industry that there is no room for complacency.
