Vol. 231 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Redundancy Payments Scheme.

32.

asked the Minister for Labour the classes of workers in respect of whom he has attempted to get discussions going on an employer-employee representative basis for the purpose of working out a special redundancy payment scheme; and what progress has been made in this regard.

Consultations have taken place with representatives of employers and employees on the question of preparing special redundancy schemes for building workers and dock workers. The question of initiating similar consultations in regard to agricultural workers is under active consideration. I have not, so far, received any recommendations for special schemes for the classes of workers concerned.
