Vol. 234 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo-Leitrim Improvement Schemes.

30.

asked the Minister for Local Government what amount of money will be allocated to County Sligo and to County Leitrim to carry out the local improvement schemes which are now to be dealt with by both county councils; and if he will have the names of all applicants for the past three years sent to each local authority in Sligo-Leitrim except those already dealt with.

The amounts of grants allocated for the financial year 1968-69 under the Local Improvement Scheme are: Sligo, £15,000 and Leitrim £40,000.

As regards outstanding applications I would refer to my reply to Questions Nos. 24 to 27 on 13th December, 1967. All application forms received under the Rural Improvements Scheme and not dealt with prior to the transfer have been sent to the respective county councils for consideration under the Local Improvement Scheme. Persons who had asked for but had not received Rural Improvements Scheme application forms have been advised that they should make direct application to the county council.

(Cavan): If the Minister has the information there, could he state the amount spent in each of those counties in the last year under this scheme?

In 1967-68 the amount for Sligo was £8,430 and the amount for Leitrim was £37,856.
