Vol. 235 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - East German Restrictions.

5.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will take the initiative in, or give support to, protests in the United Nations against the restrictions which the East German Government have imposed on the movement of people and goods between West Germany and West Berlin.

The well-known policy of the Government over the years has been to support in every way open to us the ending of the imposed partition of Germany and to re-establish Berlin as its national capital. We shall continue to promote this policy in the United Nations and elsewhere.
