Vol. 237 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Harbour Dues.

16.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he is prepared to agree to a proposal by Cork Harbour Commissioners to remit or otherwise excuse payment of harbour dues on the mv. Avalon on the occasion of her visit to Cork port for the purpose of bringing cross-channel emigrants home for the Christmas period.

I have today received an application from the Cork Harbour Commissioners for remission of tonnage rates in respect of the s.s. Avalon on the occasion of the vessel's forthcoming visit to Cork. The application is being examined sympathetically and a decision in the matter will be conveyed to the harbour authority without delay.
