asked the Minister for Labour the total amount in lump-sum payments paid to redundant workers since the commencement of the Redundancy Payments Scheme; and the average lump-sum payment made.

The estimated total amount of lump-sum payments to workers under the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967, in the period from 1st January, 1968 to 31st January, 1969 was £548,000. The average lump-sum payment in the same period is estimated at £129.
