asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the extra acreage of feeding barley needed to make this country entirely self-sufficient in coarse grains.

On the assumption that barley could entirely replace all imported coarse grains including maize and milo it is estimated that an additional 150,000 acres of feeding barley would meet our total requirements.
