Vol. 242 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if proposals for a group water scheme between Garryvoe and Mullinscross, Ladysbridge, County Cork, have reached his Department; and, if so, when sanction will be given.

No proposal is before my Department for a group water supply scheme for this area.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will examine the question of using water from Ballylooby group water scheme to supplement supply to Cahir town, County Tipperary.

There are no proposals before my Department on this subject. It would be a matter for the county council in the first instance to investigate the desirability of action on the lines suggested by the question.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will sanction the proposal submitted to his Department by Carlow County Council in July, 1969, for the extension of the Borris sewerage scheme to the Upper Cottages, Borris, County Carlow.

I hope to be in a position to convey a decision on this proposal shortly.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he intends granting approval for the Portmagee sewerage scheme, County Kerry.

There has been no change in the position since my reply to Question No. 38 of 4th March last when I stated that the local authority had not indicated the priority they wish to accord this scheme, the preliminary proposals for which are under consideration in my Department.
