Vol. 245 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imprisonment of Irishmen.

13.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if any measures had been taken by Irish diplomatic representatives in Britain to secure an independent inquiry into the imprisonment there of several young Irishmen on charges arising out of the Northern political situation and, if so, if he will give details.

Any official action in these cases is a confidential matter between the persons concerned and me, as Minister for External Affairs. I understand that appeals are pending in all six cases.
